Anthony A. Salafia, a proud veteran of the US Army, passed away on 22 July 2023 at Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital with his devoted wife, Ana, by his side. He was born on 3 June 1967, in Guam and grew up in Groton, CT, where he attended Robert E. Fitch High School. At the age of 18, Anthony enlisted in the US Army, served, and attained the rank of SPC. He valued his service highly as an Animal Care Specialist (91T10). He was stationed at Fort Sam Houston, was honorably discharged, and lived the rest of his life in San Antonio, TX.
Anthony was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Alexandrina F., and his older brother, Paul. He is survived by his wife Ana and older brother David; by loving in-laws, extended family, and a host of long-time friends; including Sergio, Patti, Joel and Zach; and his dog, Bambino. His loved ones will remember him every day for his great sense of humor that lit up a room, his great Catholic devotion, and his kind heart.
