Amy L Bobbitt

July 27, 1966 — August 5, 2024

San Antonio

Amy Lynn Bobbitt was born on July 27, 1966, in Orange County, North Carolina. Amy, along with her brother Mark, were adopted at a very young age by Leo and Carolyn Bobbitt. She attended and graduated high school in Mt. Airy, North Carolina, where she also laid her roots and began her young adult life. Rocking a fiercely permed mullet and driving her blue Buick Skylark, Amy worked for Cross Creek Apparel, was a diehard North Carolina Tarheels fan, owned one of her first of many Boxer dogs and simply loved life. She bled Carolina Blue and never met a Boxer she didn’t love. Amy later lived a short time in Sanford before making her final move half across the country to San Antonio, TX in 2010.

Amy quickly settled in and began working for H-E-B, a company in which she felt at home and had an immense amount of pride in working for. She was nominated for several awards during her time with H-E-B, including the Innovation Award, Spirit of H-E-B Award and the Bob Brant Customer Service Award.

Amy also joined a Boxer Meet-Up group and quickly made friends across the city. She loved to go on long trail walks on the weekends with her dogs, hiking, biking and spending time with friends. Along with the love of the outdoors she never came across a project she didn’t think she could do herself.

In December 2023 Amy was diagnosed with breast cancer. Although the news came as a complete shock and weighed heavy on some days, Amy continued to have an optimistic and slightly sarcastic attitude about her journey.

Sadly, Amy lost her battle on August 5, 2024, at the age of 58. Amy is survived by her mother Carolyn Bobbitt, brother Mark Bobbitt, cousin Michelle Warren, nephew Ryan Bobbitt and her two dogs Wheezy and Q.

Amy’s Southern drawl and infectious laugh drew people in and made her a joy to be around. Amy loved her dogs, her family and friends and will be truly missed. She will always be in our hearts, but her heart will always belong to a Boxer!
