Alice "Licha" Arce Guerrero, 80, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2024. Born in Edinburg, Texas, and raised in San Antonio, Alice was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth and love left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
Alice was the sixth eldest of Julio and Consuelo Arce’s thirteen children and was raised in a home filled with love and strong values. She is survived by 5 sisters and 2 brothers Petra Olivarez, Rosie Arce, Lupita Valdez, Irene Trevino, Susie Estrada, Johnny Arce, Pete Arce. She is preceded by 2 sisters and 3 brothers, Isabel Munoz, Esperanza Sanchez, Arturo Arce, Julio Arce, Ernest Arce.
Alice was a woman of many talents. She worked as a seamstress in the family retail business and also obtained her Cosmetology license. Her creative spirit extended to her love of gardens, painting, and flower arranging. However, her greatest joy came from gathering with her family around the table, making memories that will last forever in the hearts of her loved ones.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Santos "Sam" Guerrero, and her three daughters: Diane Villarreal and her husband Scott Richards, Jeanette Mondragon and her husband Roberto Mondragon, and Eve Cunningham. Alice also leaves behind ten cherished grandchildren: Stephanie Villarreal, Christine Villarreal, Michael Villarreal, Rachael Woerner, Julian Perez, Adam Morales, Josh Mondragon, Vincent Mondragon, Melinda Rodriguez, and Jacob J. Cunningham, along with eight great-grandchildren: Bryanah Villarreal, Kyri Villarreal, Jackson Woerner, Joseph Mayer, Gemma Woerner, Danielle Woerner, Luna Villarreal, and Josiah Rodriguez.
A faithful servant of God, Alice's prayers and spiritual guidance will remain with her family and friends. She often led prayers, reminding her loved ones to give thanks and stay connected to their faith. Her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to God will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Rd, San Antonio, TX 78239. Viewing will begin at 9:00 am, followed by a Rosary at 10:00 am, a Celebration of Life at 10:30 am, and burial at 11:15 am.
Alice will be dearly missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
