Alex Luco

April 3, 1992 — August 18, 2020

Alex Baldwin Luco, 28, passed away early Monday morning, August 18, 2020 in Corpus Christi.  With his last breath here on earth, he continued his legacy of selflessness as an organ donor.  Alex was born in Corpus Christi on April 3, 1992.  He graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 2010.  He served in various hospitals in the nursing profession where he spent several years helping people any way he could.

To know Alex is to know a friend.  A friend with a limitless amount of love.  A friend with a heart so big that he would give you anything you asked for and even sometimes when you didn’t.  Alex blessed others abundantly and continually.  Family and friends could call him anytime for help, and his answer was always YES, without hesitation.  Most knew him more as a brother than a friend, because he treated everyone like family.  Alex started his own family in July of 2017 and became the best father and husband anyone could ask for. His love for his family showed in every single thing he did.  He loved talking dad life, telling “dad jokes,” never hesitated to change a diaper, pull an all-nighter, or give “rocket ships” to bed.  Alex was never on the sidelines, except for when he was coaching his sons t-ball team.  He jumped wholeheartedly into every single thing he did and was truly one of a kind.  He enjoyed fishing every chance he got and loved sports of all kinds.  Alex loved the Longhorns. He watched football all season long, rooting for the Cowboys no matter what.  He had his family wear Cowboy’s gear every game because he knew it would bring them good luck (even though most of the time it didn’t.)  Kobe was his favorite player in all sports and is probably shooting hoops with him right now and maybe even convinced him to have a Lonestar, and of course only a red would do.  Alex loved the number 8, lotto tickets, a good movie, and country music.  He loved every opportunity to spend time with his brothers, who he also considered his best friends.  Alex enjoyed doing anything to make us laugh and smile.  Alex Luco was a shining light in the lives of many people and our world is dimmer without him in it.  Although his time was entirely too short, his family hopes to continue his legacy and love like Luco.

Those left to cherish Alex’s memories are his wife, Brittnee; children, Jetson, Kaison, Lainey, and Maisey; parents, Barbara and Danny Harder; brothers, Michael Shirley (Tara), Philip Shirley (Melissa), Goose Harder, Chance Harder, and Kaden Harder; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and very special friends.

Alex was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Lee Luco and his grandparents, Philip and Penny BaldwinBecause one celebration of life isn’t sufficient for a man with so much love and so many friends, services will be held as follows.
