Alaina (Doran) Palyok
Passed away December 4, 2017 after an 18 month battle with cancer, with her husband and family at her side. She was 28 years old.
Born November 16, 1989 in Washington Township, N.J. to Marcia and Larry Doran. Moved to Chaska, Mn at age 4 where she attended Chaska High School graduating with the 2008 class. Alaina excelled in soccer and lacrosse captaining both sports and earning 9 varsity letters and numerous awards. Following high school, she attended University of Minnesota at Duluth where she received a B.S. in Molecular Biology. While at Duluth, she was a four year starter for the Women’s Club Lacrosse team qualifying for the National Club Championship Playoffs and earning First Team All-American honors in 2011.
Alaina met her love Lt. Mark Palyok Jr in Duluth. They married on September 24, 2015. Alaina and Mark moved to Del Rio, Texas for Mark to complete his Air Force pilot training. She was diagnosed in early 2016. Alaina actively participated in cutting edge research during her battle, which directly impacted the advance of cancer treatments at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Alaina is survived by her husband Lt. Mark Palyok Jr, dog Auggie, mother Marcia Doran and father Larry Doran of Chaska, Mn, Sisters Elisabeth, Juliana and Karolina and numerous Aunts uncles and Cousins, mother in law Angela Palyok of Louisville, Ky, father in law Mark Palyok Sr. of Saginaw, Mn, sister and brother in Law Nicole and Josh Clemens of New Albany, Indiana, niece Taylor Clemens and paternal grandmother Laura Palyok of Edgewater, FL.
Alaina loved playing soccer, golf, woodworking, building models and watching the Minnesota Vikings. She most cherished her time spent with her husband and dog.
