Adelmiro "Miro" Acosta, age 75, passed away in death Sunday, November 27th, 2016. He was born June 29th, 1941 to Leo and Porfiria Acosta in Mission, Texas. He attended Sharyland High School, and was a star running back , captain of the football team and an all-star athlete. Miro married Elva Flores on July 21st, 1963 and from this union four children were born. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Channelview, Texas, where Miro made a career of welding. In July of 1997, Miro retired and he and his wife moved to Bastrop, Texas. He was a model husband and loved his wife dearly. Miro was very proud of his children and the career paths they chose. His oldest, Eddie, is retired Air Force and lives in Sacramento. His son, Lonnie is retired Army and lives in Houston. His youngest and oldest daughter, Katrina, is an Army veteran and lives in San Antonio. His son, Leroy, is a Marine Engineer living in Tampico, Mexico. Miro loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. He passed the love of the outdoors to all his children. He will be remembered for his quick wit and amazing sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, five sisters, and one grandson, Kevin Scott Lewis. He is survived by his wife, Elva Flores Acosta, three sons, Adelmiro Edward Acosta (Michelle), Leroy Acosta, Alonzo Acosta (Ila), one daughter, Katrina Lamar Acosta. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A Vigil will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:30 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Rd., San Antonio, Texas, 78239. A Funeral will be held Thursday, December 1, 2016 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Windcrest. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
